A morning at Point Sebago

There is something uniquely special about a wedding at Point Sebago. Tucked along the shores of Sebago Lake, Point Sebago offers that quintessential Maine feeling. Water, pine trees, sandy beaches, and plenty of room to slow down and actually enjoy the people you came to celebrate with. This Point Sebago Wedding was an especially beautiful example of what happens when a couple creates a wedding day around what actually matters to them. Rather than feeling overly traditional or overly staged, the day felt intimate, genuine, and completely their own. There was plenty of laughter, a few quiet moments tucked away from the crowd, and all of the candid in-between moments that make a wedding gallery feel like a true reflection of the day. As a Maine wedding photographer, these are the weddings I love photographing most: celebrations that feel lived-in, personal, and authentic. And as a Portland Maine wedding photographer, I’m always happy to head outside of the city to photograph couples in some of the beautiful places that make Maine so special.

Getting Ready at Point Sebago

The getting-ready portion of a wedding day is one of my favorite opportunities for documentary-style photographs. Before the ceremony begins and everyone settles into the rhythm of the day, there is this little pocket of anticipation and buzz before the day truly begins. I photograph these moments with a mix of digital and analog photography, allowing the day to unfold naturally rather than constantly interrupting it. Film photography brings an especially beautiful quality to these quieter moments, with its softness, texture, and nostalgic feeling.

A Point Sebago Ceremony on the Lake

The ceremony itself was intimate and full of emotion. Instead of worrying about looking perfect for the camera, the focus was on being present with one another. That is always my goal as a wedding photographer: to give you enough direction when you need it, but enough space to simply experience what is happening around you. The result is a gallery filled with photographs that feel candid without feeling completely unconsidered. There is room for the big emotional moments, but also for the subtle ones.

Couple Portraits

After the ceremony, we took some time for couple portraits around the property. Point Sebago makes this part of the day particularly fun because there are so many different environments to work with. Rather than spending an hour taking the same portrait in slightly different poses, I prefer to make couple portraits feel like an extension of the day itself. Truly being able to experience the day, rather than feeling like a shuffle from pose to pose is important for me as a Maine photographer. We walked, talked, laughed, and took advantage of the beautiful Maine landscape. Some photographs were more intentionally composed, while others happened naturally as we moved from one spot to another.

This is where my approach as a hybrid photographer really comes into play. I love the intentionality and artistic quality of an analog photograph, but I also love the freedom and immediacy of digital. Together, they create a gallery that feels both polished and personal. The goal isn’t perfection. It’s creating photographs that feel like you.

Private Vows & Quiet Moments

These quieter portions of a wedding day are often where some of my favorite photographs happen. As a documentary-inspired Maine wedding photographer, I don’t want every meaningful moment to happen in front of a camera. Sometimes the best thing I can do is step back, give you space, and photograph what naturally unfolds. That is what creates a genuine wedding gallery. One that includes not only the beautiful portraits and carefully planned details, but also the private, imperfect, emotional, and completely unexpected moments.
