Intimate Biddeford, Maine Beachfront Wedding

Maria & Jim knew what they wanted from the jump! From our first conversation, they talked about doing things differently. They wanted a day that felt relaxed, personal, and true to them. Instead of a large, traditional wedding, they chose an intimate beachfront wedding with their closest people.

Guests spread out across the property throughout the day at their intimate beachfront wedding. Some played lawn games in the sun. Others swam in the ocean. A quieter group gathered around a card game table made just for introverted friends. The design felt timeless and luxurious, yet the energy stayed light and easy. Guests arrived in elevated beach attire, then later changed into bathing suits and casual clothes for the reception.

Throughout the day, the couple honored both of their cultures in meaningful ways. Maria’s family traveled from Peru to celebrate with them. As an act of love, Jim learned Spanish for his vows and read them directly to her family. The moment brought happy tears and audible reactions from the crowd. Speeches flowed in both Spanish and English, breaking down language barriers and bringing everyone into the moment together.

I photographed the day on both digital and film, which fit their vision perfectly. Digital captured the energy and movement. The film added a soft, nostalgic feel to the quieter moments. As a Maine wedding photographer, I love days like this! The relaxed feeling of the day allows for connection, creativity, and joy. This is the kind of day that feels like it is truly setting up the stage for a great marriage. Congratulations, Maria & Jim!
