As a Maine wedding photographer, I’ve had the privilege of documenting many love stories, but Greek Orthodox ceremonies stand out. Recently, I photographed a beautiful wedding in Saco, Maine, and it was a remarkable experience filled with authenticity and tradition.

The Preparation

The day began with the couple getting ready, and I focused on capturing candid moments that defined their journey. Using analog photography, I aimed to evoke a timeless quality. From the bride’s delicate gown to the groom’s last minute adjustments, every detail helped tell their story.

The Ceremony

As the ceremony unfolded, the church filled with guests, and the sacred atmosphere deepened. I captured key moments, like the crowning of the couple with stefana and their heartfelt vows. Film photography allowed me to convey the raw emotions and warmth of the day, creating a beautiful narrative.

Reflecting on the Day

As the day wrapped up, I felt grateful for the opportunity to capture such a meaningful occasion. It was a beautiful representation of the lineage of Alex’s family where his parents, and their parents had been married in the same space generations before. The same words spoken, the same steps taken, and the rituals passed down throughout the generations made for a heartfelt tie back to his family making the ceremony that much more sentimental to the pair.
